the project
I created a flyer that folds out into a poster, inspired by Japanese Film Festival. The Japanese Film Festival showcases a wide variety of films, aiming to support and grow interest in Japanese films and culture. The festival encourages the audience to celebrate and enjoy Japanese traditions and pop culture. The festival encompasses both classic and contemporary films, thus my print is designed accordingly, pairing the timeless, iconic Japanese imagery with a modern look.

The exposed red at the bottom of the closed flyer evokes curiosity and invites the user to pick up and open the brochure to uncover the image at the back.
This print is designed to be interesting at every unfold, playing with the dimensions of the fold and paper. It unfolds to tell a story, revealing information to the viewer bit by bit, keeping the viewer entertained with imagery and digestible small pockets of information. The included film poster further encourages the audience to take the flyer, as it has additional use as a poster after the contents have been read and the event has passed.
